Spring Planting at Roots
Lower schoolers were hard at work on Roots Farm in early April, planting tomatoes, basil, marigolds, and peppers in the greenhouse. As they covered the seeds with a layer of dirt and lightly sprayed them with water, Farmer Hood explained germination and companion planting. In a few weeks, the seedlings will be moved to bigger pots, and eventually, to their summer home on the farm. Let the magic of spring bloom!
